Today we’re going to be talking about the Scent of Margaret River.  It’s a nice citrus blend, it’s our most popular soap and I’m sure you guys will love it. With Moon Haven being in the small village of Cowaramup in the centre of the  Margaret River Region we needed a scent to represent us and the area around us. With Lemon Myrtle and Eucalyptus Essential Oils this fresh soap was inspired by the Boranup Forrest after fresh rain. Universal Herbal Ointment - Our First Aid Kit in a Jar Every household could do with a jar of this amazing all purpose herbal ointment created and made right here at moon haven for 20 plus years.. Many of our moonies have called it a "First Aid Kit in a Jar" and their kids call it "Magic Cream" it's that good. It's fantastic for all of life's little boos boos.  Small cuts, nicks, insect bites even for rashes, colds sores and spots. When my boys were little and getting into all sorts of strife the jar of universal was always on hand... I even carried mine in my handbag for all those little emergencies. Now that I am often out and about camping in the wonderful wild world of the Australian outback a jar of universal can be found in my car, the van and my back pack.. It's that good. We make it by infusing 12 wonderfully helpful herbs in quality sunflower oil and then add 8 essential oils with beautiful organic beeswax, a little lanolin to help with stickiness and voila we have our first aid kit all bundled up in a convenient 30ml jar.   Just remember - A little goes a long, long way. This little pot of healing herbs and essential oils can help with all sorts of skin issues. Just apply a tiny amount to the affected area and gentle smoothed into your skin. We suggest even half a grain of rice worth may be all you need! Apply as needed.   P.S. If you find that the ointment stings then dilute down with any regular cooking oil. Aromatherapy Birth Kit Labouring with Aromatherapy Introducing  Yoga Baby Bliss & MH’s Labour of Love Aromatherapy Birth Kit Recently I met the incredibly talented Natalie Burgess of Yoga Baby Bliss in Margaret River, Western Australia.  Natalie who specialises in teaching Yoga to expectant and new mothers asked us at Moon Haven to put together a birth kit…we happily set to work. Natalie originally approached Moon Haven to formulate an unscented massage oil suitable for use in her yoga baby massage classes for new mums and their babes. Natalie is now offering an incredible series of workshops dealing with yoga for pregnancy, labour and beyond. Aromatherapy Birth Kit Armed with her beautifully written manual I set about putting together a suitable aromatherapy kit for use in the later stages of pregnancy and through labour and the birth periods and would be suitable to offer to Natalie’s workshop participants. The result was our new Labour of Love Aromatherapy Birth Kit. With two salves – Achy Breaky Rub for the aches and pains of the latter stages of pregnancy and the lower back aches of early labour and Calendula Salve to assist when performing Perineal Massage ( I can feel you all cringe from here!) we were off to  a good start. With the help of Stacey (of Herb Girl fame) we set about formulating two essential oil blends – one to soothe and relax during the first anxious stages of labour and one to help with focussing and activating labour during the transition and the second stage right up until birth. We also wanted the two blends to be able to be blended together so that the transition was smooth and not jarring.  So that the oil burner did not need to be cleaned out but one oil could be placed on top of the other and still remain pleasant. The resultant birth blends are: Prelude for the first stages and after the birth In the Moment for the later stages of labour and the actual birth Based on uplifting Mandarin and soothing Clary Sage both blends are delightful on their own but come into their own when they are combined.   As Prelude tapers off and In the Moment takes over the scents released are quite amazing. We have had wonderful feedback from our testers and I look forward to welcoming our new mums and their lovely babes into Moon Haven and listening to their birth stories.  I will keep you all posted. Aloe Vera for your sunburnt skin Unfortunately it's a fact of life. Most of us will get a touch too much sun at some point in our exitence. Every household should have a plant at the ready. Just break a bit of fleshy leaf off the plant and apply the gooey inner gel from the centre of the leaf and gently smoothe it over your sunburn. Of course, do seek medical advice if the sunburn is severe or covers extensive areas of your body. After Sun Gel Of course if you don't want to go to the trouble of keeping and Aloe Vera plant you can always use our After Sun Gel. We've formulated Moon Haven's after sun with organic aloe vera gel as well as harnessing the soothing anti-inflammatory properties of calendula, roman chamomile and french lavender. Keep it in the fridge for a truly skin soothing experience.

It is important to understand that Breakout Serum is extremely potent in he fight against acne.  It is chock full of full strength antibacterial and anti inflammatory essential oils. Oils that we wouldn't normally recommend that you use undiluted on your skin because it may irritate normal skin. Yet it is this powerful action that is so beneficial in the fight against acne.
