Ginger falls into the category of the "wet sock scent family"... along with wonderfully helpful oils like Clary Sage and Vetiver
Ginger certainly doesn't smell of the freshly crushed ginger root - not straight out of the bottle that is.
In fact, the odour of the undiluted essential oil is muddy, sludgy and for some, off-putting.
Give Ginger 'Space'
But, dilute this amazing oil in a base...add just a few drops to a diffuser, let it warm and breathe and the oil transforms into a lovely warm and spicy scent.
So when you come to smell Ginger Essential Oil for the first time - give it some space, dilute it down and then make a judgement.
Given its amazing properties - you'll be pleased you persevered.
