Clary sage has long been a favourite when dealing with women’s issues. From painful periods to menopause

Not only has it been traditionally used for its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, it’s also wonderful for a number of women’s health issues. It’s even considered by some to be an aphrodisiac.

Always welcome in a sleep potion for it's soporific effects. Wonderful to assist with anxiety and stress issues.

Clary Sage Pure Essential Oil can be used as follows:

  • To assist with period pain and cramps

Mix 2 to 3 drops of Clary Sage Essential Oil in 5 ml of carrier oil (Coconut, Almond, Sunflower etc) Massage into abdomen as needed.

  • Sleep

Apply 1 or 2 drops to your pillow before turning out the lights

  • Hot Flushes:

Take a quick whiff straight form the Clary Sage bottle.

General Use:

  • Diffuser: Add 5 to 8  drops of Clary Sage essential oil to a diffuser.
  • Shower:Add 2-3 drops to the corner of the shower and enjoy the benefits of steam inhalation.
  • Bath: Do not add undiluted essential oils to your bathwater. Oil and water do not mix. Instead mix 3 to 5 drops Clary Sage with 5 ml of Solubiliser a drop of shampoo/ detergent or in 20 ml (1 tablespoon) of full cream milk. Add this emulsion to the bathwater and slip in. The essential oils emulsifies in solubiliser and so distributes more evenly throughout the bathwater.
  • Hand or foot bath: Add 2 drops of essential oil to a bowl of water and soak hands or feet.
  • Compress: Add 2 drops of essential oil to a bowl of water.

For treating inflammation or to cool down use cold to room temperature water. Agitate a face washer in the water, wring out excess moisture and apply washer to the affected area. Repeat two or three times as the compress cools down or warms up.

  • Steam Treatment: For face & respiratory, add 2 drops of essential oil to a bowl of steaming hot water. Place your face close to the bowl and cover the back of your head and bowl with a towel to trap the aromatic vapours.

Caution due to risk of burns or scalding and keep eyes covered during treatment.

THE CLARY SAGE ESSENTIAL OIL STORY

Clary Sage is a wonderful oil for helping to deal with a host of menopause symptoms. It's particularly great for helping to deal with hot flushes. 

Hot Flushes - Inhalation
Just add a drop or two to a tissues and inhale slowly 2 or three times. Alternatively you can inhale directly from the bottle.

Hot Flushes - Application
Alternatively you can add a couple of drops to a 1/2 teaspoon of carrier oil or unscented cream and apply to the back of the neck. Alternatively place a drop of neat oil to the hair near your temples and breathe in deeply.
