A new study has shown evidence that what you smell as you sleep influences your dreams as well as the quality of your sleep.

Boris Stuck of University Hospital Mannheim, Germany, exposed 15 sleeping volunteers to chemicals that mimicked the smell of either rotten eggs or roses.  Apparently they reproted more pleasing dreams and emotions when hit with the rose scent as opposed to the rotten egg scent.

Of course this is exactly what aromatherapists and perfumers have been saying for years…at least we now have some scientific evidence to back it up!

Moon Haven will be exhibiting at the Sydney Reed Gift Fair at Darling Harbour …next Saturday through to the following Tuesday (20 – 23 September).

Chris and I will be manning the Moon Haven stand (Stand 6820 in Hall 6) -after building it and setting up.  Amazingly it takes us a full day to set up.

This fair we are looking to meet up with our exisitng retailers and give them all the gossip on our NEW lines – like our fantastic body polishes and the NEW Purple Passion Designer Series Soap.

And of course we will meet loads of new retailers looking to place moon haven goodies in their stores.

So if you are a retailer coming to Sydney for the Fair – do call in!

Along with all our soap and lotion making I have been busily making Herbal Dream Pillows, Heat With Wheat Bags and Relaxing Eye Pillows for both Moon Haven and for our growing number of retailers around Australia.

These yummy gifts and herbal helpers are part of Moon Haven’s NEW Herbal Home Range.

The Herbal Dream pillows are filled with sleep assisting herbs like chamomile, sweet marjoram, lavender and rose petals. To use all you have to do is slip the pillow under your pillowcase when you go to bed.  Then throughout the night as you sleep and move around your head crushes the herbs within the pillow releasing the natural sleep assisting herbal aromas.

Our Heat with Wheat Packs are filled with good Australian hard wheat along with rosemary and lavender herbs.  In two sizes Large (with its own washable cover) and Medium you just pop these into the microwave for 2 to 3 minutes and then place on hurting muscles and body bits.  Careful… these can get very hot!

The Relaxing Eye Pillows are filled with Australian linseed and gorgeous rose petals and lavender buds. Just lay down and gently place over your closed eyes…relax and enjoy the gentle comfort of light pressure on the eyelids while inhaling the gorgeous relaxing aromas of rose and lavender.

So as you can see we are really having a lot of fun with this new range.

And yes my sewing room smells absolutely delightful!

Looking at this amazing row of freshly varnished display trays Eric and I were marvelling at how everything we produce at Moon Haven is truly ruly hand crafted!

Eric has been working away for the past few weeks with his wood working tools, individually making the huge numbers of display trays and backing boards for our marvellous  network of retailers around Australia.

We are nearly complete with all the orders from the Melbourne August Fair and are readying ourselves to attend the Reed Gift Fair in Sydney starting on the 20th September.

Then it might be time for a short camping trip to recuperate from all this busyness.
