Scentorium
I am such a lucky gal being married to my most wonderful and creative man…
Eric has been busy…not only is he putting together a large guest soap order for Japan but he has taken time out to make this fantabulous Scentorium for display at the Augusta Margaret River Visitor Centre (or margaretriver.com ).
Made out of Jarrah – our beautiful local hardwood which can only be found in this corner of the world. Eric’s craftsmanship and attention to detail is amazing!
We have been collecting material for the potpourri for months – saving and drying our orange peel, foraging in the bush for interesting seed pods, leaves and bark as well as entering into endless debates on design and materials. The end result is just divine and the scent is something out of this world.
Here is the finished Scentorium at our Moon Haven display in the AMRTA tourist bureau in Margaret River.
The idea is to lift each of the Scentorium’s lids and take a long deep breathe of each of the scents.
From left to right the scent blends we have used are – The Scent of Margaret River, Essensual, Spice of Life and Breathe Easy![]()
Already the display is getting comments…with the festive season well upon us the Visitor Centre staff are putting their noses into the Breathe Easy blend for a quick pick me up “in the morning after the night before”.
And now I would love a Scentorium for Moon haven itself…and i can see Eric already shaking his head and saying…now why didn’t she say she wanted 2 in the first place….mmmmmm
Flying Green
We couldn’t really do anything else could we… with a name like Moon Haven… we have to look after the environment as best we can. So offsetting our travel through purchasing carbon offsets is as natural as the pristine environment we live in.
We are flying over to Sydney in February for the Gift and Homewares Association Trade Fair where we will be exhibitors for the first time.
It’s pretty easy to achieve … often when you book your flights online there is an option where you can purchase carbon offsets for your flights. With three of us travelling Perth to Sydney we will produce approximately 2 tonnes of carbon dioxide gas – quite frightening isn’t it!
